The
Sanford Concert Series shares the vision of
Colonel Henry Sanford to foster local and professional
musical talent. The Series promotes classical music,
supports emerging artists by bringing them to the attention
of the people of St. Mary's County and its surrounding
areas, and encourages fellowship between the performers
and audience.
Lyn Schramm, artistic
director for the Series, graduated cum laude
from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's in
Music Education as a string specialist. The first co-recipient of the Motor Wheel Foundation Grant for Graduate Study, she received her Master's in Music Education with an emphasis in keyboard and choral music also from Michigan State University. She has served as an accompanist, organist, cellist, choral director, and music educator throughout the U.S. and Japan. Currently, Mrs. Schramm is Minister of Music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in California, Maryland, Artistic Director of The Sanford Concert Series at St. Andrew’s, and music instructor at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, Maryland. Robin Witte, who serves
as the assistant to the artistic director, is a native
of Syosset, New York, and graduated from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Although an engineer by degree, she has always dabbled
in the fine arts, including scene design, stage lighting
and theater art. After college, Robin moved to Fort
Worth, Texas, where she worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed
Martin on various aircraft development programs. She
began her career as a structural design engineer and
worked her way up to an engineering chief/team lead
with design and integration responsibility on an international
program. She is currently the Civilian Chief Engineer on the P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft Program with the Navy at NAS Patuxent River. rswitte@gmail.com
